About the Omaha Trauma System

The Omaha Trauma System is a partnership composed of Omaha's two academic medical centers, Creighton University Medical Center & The Nebraska Medical Center and Lifenet who all collaborate to ensure that optimal & timely care is given to all injured persons. Creighton University Medical Center & The Nebraska Medical Center alternate as the primary trauma center for a given day.

Creighton University Medical Center and The Nebraska Medical Center work closely together to act as a resource for referring hospitals and emergency medical service systems within our trauma region. The Omaha Trauma System visits referring hospitals to aid in trauma designation procedures. Additionally, we provide case reviews and structured courses to help keep all medical personnel up-to-date on the latest in trauma care. We are also actively involved with community & statewide efforts to promote injury prevention.
